Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”
What is the call of the Church?
As Christ’s body, we are commissioned to make disciples, starting within our own families, within our church body, and in Shelby and Jefferson Counties. Shelby County is the least-churched county in our state with a field of “nones” who seek to fill the spiritual void in all the wrong places. Christ beckons His church to go and serve those in spiritual darkness. We do so at Church of the Good Shepherd by “Loving God through Serving our Neighbors.” Join us and be discipled to go and make disciples. Fulfill the ministry and calling the Lord Jesus has placed upon your life, or simply come and see this Sunday.

A Taste of Our Ministries
Rev. Andrew Brashier
Our Rector (Pastor)
Rev. Andrew was born and raised in Helena, Alabama and came to the Anglican tradition after graduating from UAB (Go Blazers!). He completed his law degree at Cumberland School of Law, Samford University.
He was called to the Church of the Good Shepherd along with his family in 2019, and he desires to see the mission grow into a vibrant witness of Christian faith in action. Additionally, he serves as an Archdeacon and Dean of the Parishes and Missions for the Jurisdiction of the Armed Forces and Chaplaincy, is a member of the Anglican Church in North America Governance Task Force, co-hosts The Miserable Offenders Podcast, produced by The North American Anglican, and has published two books. He works full-time at the nation’s largest Christian prison ministry. He and his family reside in Pelham, Alabama and love living in Shelby County near the bustling communities of Hoover, Alabaster, Helena, Chelsea, and Calera.
Confessing the Faith
We confess the Holy Scriptures and receive the following as accurate summaries of the faith once delivered, as revealed in the Bible:
Our worship is rooted in the Scriptures, and therefore we pray, praise, and worship through Common Prayer using the Word of God.
